CARAVAN

Nijlen, Belgium

Caravan was developed as a mobile presentation structure at a moment when the need to work independently from galleries had become increasingly important.

The project starts from an existing dark blue caravan and turns it into a transportable exhibition space.

Rather than waiting for a gallery to provide context, the structure carries its own conditions with it: scale, display, architecture, access and presentation.

Paintings and objects can be shown inside or on the exterior. A folding display system allows the installation to adapt to different locations.

The caravan is therefore not simply a container for art. It is a way of producing a temporary exhibition context without depending on a permanent institution.

Mobility becomes a form of independence.
